Connecticut Science Center Collaborative (CSCC)

The Connecticut Science Center Collaborative is a chapter of the Northeast Science Center Collaborative. The CSCC combines the latest scientific findings of research and academic institutions with the interpretive expertise of science centers to develop exhibits, educational content, and outreach projects for the more than three million annual visitors of our members: more than 25 science education and research institutions, museums and nonprofit organizations in Connecticut.

CSCC Mission, Goals and History

The mission of the Connecticut Science Center Collaborative is to educate the people of Connecticut about climate change. We work to:

1) Identify climate change impacts and solutions affecting people, their homes and communities.
2) Provide our members educational content about the science of climate change and its solutions.
3) Strengthen the capacity of our members through professional development.

The CSCC was begun in 2004 by CA-CP in cooperation with the Connecticut DEP’s Climate Change Initiative, using funding from the Tremaine Foundation. The New England Science Center Collaborative provided a model, and partnered with CA-CP and CT DEP in CSCC development.
